ULVAC HELIOT 904W2 — Mobile Cart Oil-Pump Helium Leak Detector
The HELIOT 904W2 is the oil rotary vane pump mobile cart model in the ULVAC HELIOT 900 series. It has the largest backing pump capacity among oil-rotary-pump models in the 900 series (135/162 L/min at 50/60 Hz), enabling fast evacuation of large test volumes. The 904 series mobile cart has large wheels, a foot-operated brake, a stepper, and a tablet holder that secures the controller during transport.

When to Select 904W2
- Instrument needs to move between test stations
- Large test object volumes requiring fast evacuation
- Oil pump operation is acceptable (not a clean room or pharma environment)
- Parallel pumping alongside an external vacuum system (5 L/s at ULTRA flow is effective for parallel use)
When to Choose a Dry-Pump Model Instead
- Pump oil not acceptable in the environment
- High-throughput pumping needed: 904D3 or 904D4 has larger dry-pump capacity
- Semiconductor or clean-room environment
Service Points for 904W2
- Oil level and oil condition: Rotary pump oil level must be checked and oil changed per oil condition assessment. Discoloured or contaminated oil must be changed promptly.
- Oil mist trap (optional): Replace oil mist trap element when saturated; prevents pump oil from entering the exhaust and contaminating the environment.
- Gas ballast: Use gas ballast when pumping water vapour or condensable gases to prevent oil dilution.
- Ion source, TMP, filters, O-rings: Same as all 900 series (see 901W1 service section for full list).
- Cart condition: Inspect wheels, brake, stepper, and controller mounting for wear and correct function.
