ULVAC HELIOT 710 Series — Specifications and Service
The HELIOT 710 series is a discontinued generation of ULVAC helium mass spectrometer leak detectors, superseded by the current HELIOT 900 series. Despite discontinuation, 710 series instruments remain widely installed at facilities worldwide and are fully serviceable. We provide complete independent service support for all HELIOT 710 series models.

Note: Some specification values above are derived from HELIOT 710 series technical documentation. Verify against your specific model nameplate and operations manual.
Test Modes
- Ultra Flow — highest sensitivity (1×10⁻¹² Pa·m³/s), requires test piece pressure below 4 kPa
- Fine Flow — medium sensitivity, faster pump-down
- Gross Flow — coarse leak detection at higher test pressures, used for rough-leak pre-screening
- Sniffing — sniffer probe mode, test piece is pressurised with helium and scanned externally
Service Support Available

- Preventive maintenance — full 6-month maintenance schedule per ULVAC recommendation
- Corrective repair — sensitivity faults, vacuum faults, controller faults, pump failures
- Ion source replacement — IS-BA1 ion source cleaning or replacement
- TMP service — turbomolecular pump inspection, bearing check, replacement
- Calibration verification — sensitivity measurement against external reference leak
- EXT.I/O support — signal verification and PLC integration assistance
- Upgrade assessment — evaluation of migration to HELIOT 900 series
Spare Parts for 710 Series
We supply available spare parts for HELIOT 710 series: IS-BA1 ion source assemblies, CLM-08 calibration leaks, AS9/BS9/BT9 sniffer probes, O-ring sets, oil mist filters, inlet screen filters, Pirani gauge sensors, and maintenance consumables. Contact us with model and serial number for parts availability.
Migration to HELIOT 900 Series
The HELIOT 900 series offers significant improvements over the 710 series: 10× better minimum detectable leak rate (1×10⁻¹³ vs 1×10⁻¹² Pa·m³/s), wireless Android tablet controller, RS-232C/RS-485/EXT.I/O interfaces, and a 710-series compatibility mode for EXT.I/O signal format. We can assist with migration planning including PLC interface mapping.
