ULVAC HELIOT 301 — Helium Leak Detector
The HELIOT 301 is a discontinued generation of ULVAC helium mass spectrometer leak detector. It is an older instrument, preceding the HELIOT 700 series, but is still found in service at some facilities. We provide independent service support for HELIOT 301 instruments.
About the HELIOT 301
Like all HELIOT instruments, the HELIOT 301 uses a 90° magnetic deflection mass spectrometer tuned to helium (mass 4). It supports vacuum-mode leak testing (Evacuation method) where the test piece is evacuated and sprayed with helium externally, and sniffer-probe leak testing (Sniffing method) where the sniffer probe scans the outside of a pressurised test piece.
The HELIOT 301 uses an older analogue controller and EXT.I/O signal format. Spare parts availability is limited due to the age of this instrument generation.

Spare Parts Availability
Original spare parts for the HELIOT 301 have limited availability due to the age of this instrument. We assess availability on a case-by-case basis. Where original parts are no longer available, we advise on compatible alternatives where applicable and technically appropriate.
Upgrade Recommendation
We generally recommend upgrading HELIOT 301 instruments to the current HELIOT 900 series, particularly when repairs require parts that are no longer available, or when the instrument no longer meets application sensitivity requirements. The HELIOT 900 series is significantly more capable and offers modern digital control, wireless tablet interface, and full EXT.I/O/RS-232C/RS-485 connectivity.
