ULVAC HELIOT 700 Series — Helium Leak Detectors
The HELIOT 700 series is a discontinued generation of ULVAC helium mass spectrometer leak detectors, produced before the HELIOT 710 series. Despite discontinuation, these instruments remain installed and operational at facilities worldwide. We provide complete independent service support for all HELIOT 700 series instruments.
About the HELIOT 700 Series
The HELIOT 700 series uses the same 90° magnetic deflection mass spectrometer detection principle as all HELIOT generations. The 700 series was superseded by the HELIOT 710 series, which in turn was superseded by the current HELIOT 900 series.
Key differences from later generations include an older controller platform, different EXT.I/O signal format, and fewer test modes. The 700 series uses oil rotary-vane backing pumps and supports both vacuum-mode (Evacuation method) and sniffer-probe (Sniffing method) leak testing.

Compatibility with HELIOT 900 Series
The HELIOT 900 series includes a compatibility mode that can emulate the signal format of the HELIOT 700 series via EXT.I/O and RS-232C. This simplifies migration from 700 series instruments to 900 series without reprogramming PLCs or test systems. We can assist with compatibility configuration during commissioning.

Upgrade to HELIOT 900 Series
If your HELIOT 700 series instrument has reached the end of its serviceable life, or if parts are no longer available, we can advise on migration to the current HELIOT 900 series. The 900 series offers improved sensitivity (1×10⁻¹³ Pa·m³/s), wireless tablet controller, and modern EXT.I/O and RS-232C/RS-485 interfaces.
